Q: How to Reach Ranikhet +
The nearest airport from Ranikhet is Pantnagar Airport. It is situated approximately 120 km away from Ranikhet, making it the perfect strip for traveling to the place by air. From the airport, you can either hire private cabs or board taxis, to reach your destination.
By Rail
The nearest rail-head from Ranikhet is Kathgodam Railway station, which falls at a distance of approximately 80 km from the town. Regular bus and cab services are available from Kathgodam to Ranikhet.
By Road
By road from Delhi, one has to take NH 24 to Rampur via Moradabad, from where NH 87 leads to Kathgodam via Rudrapur and Haldwani. From Kathgodam Ranikhet can be reached taking a state highway via Bhimtal, Bhowali and Khairna.

Spring (March & April) Spring season marks the end of the chilly snowy winter with the flowers and trees beginning to blossom. The snow starts to melt and the grass begins to sprout back. The snow views of the northwestern Himalayas is good in March but begins to become a bit more elusive by April. The day temperature ranges from 18-22 degrees and the night temperatures is between 5-8 degree celsius.
Summers (May & June) Unlike the summers of the planes, the summers in Ranikhet are mild with the maximum temperature hovering around 30 degrees and the minimum temperature being around 8 degree celsius. You will experience cool breeze throughout summers and see the hill sides become green doted with wild flowers. Summers is also the time to enjoy the sumptuous taste peaches, plums and apricots. Though the Himalayan snow peaks are a little difficult to spot at this time of the year.
Monsoons (July to September) Come Monsoons and you will witness vibrant shades of green on all hills and mountains. The clouds come down into the valley and it feels as if you are in heaven. Monsoons is also the time when you can handpick fresh apples , pears , walnuts & chestnuts . The overcast silver grey skies and the vibrant green makes the wild flowers shine bright. You most definitely will spot a rainbow too. If you are lucky and the clouds clear you may catch the views of the Nandadevi which are at times even clearer than those in winters. The maximum temperature hovers around 22-20 degrees while the minimum is comfortably around 14-12 degrees.
Autumn (October & November) As the fruiting trees begin to wither and the green leaves become amber, the cloudy veils lift from the Himalayas and the most majestic views of the snowy peaks appear. These peaks catch the Sun and glisten like pots of gold. The maximum temperature stays under 20 degrees and the minimum drops to nearly 5 degrees.
Winters (December to February) As fresh snows settles on the mighty peaks, winters become the best season to witness the Nandadevi range in its ultimate grandeur. As you sip hot tea in the winter sun you can soak in the spectacular Himalayan views. If are lucky you may even be able to witness a snowfall. Apart from the Himalayas, the stellar diamond studded night skies are also a once in a lifetime kind of delight. The day temperatures remains under 15 degrees but at night it may drop to single digits sometimes even touch zero.

- Guests are advised to carry appropriate winter clothing especially a wind cheater.
- Sun Screen (30SPF and above), sunglasses and sun hats are a must as the mountain sun is very harsh and may cause sun burns especially in winters.

- Durable hiking boots and walking shoes. Carry a extra pair if visiting during monsoons.
